Good Morning!
Your mission for the next day or two is to work your way through the Course Introduction Module, which you'll find in the self-title folder on the course home page. You have a lot of reading to do this week, and a quiz that you should take once you've finished the assigned readings. (I'm trying to add some html and some video files to spruce things up, but I've been having some technical difficulties...)
For the first day or two, while people are getting their sea legs here in our online class space, only the Course Introduction module will be available. Later in the week, I'll make Quiz 1 (which covers the readings for this introductory module) available. Once things have started to settle down (probably early Wednesday), I'll activate our first real learning module so you can get started on the first project.
I'll post a daily message here several times a week over the course of the semester. Sometimes the messages are quite short; other times they're rather long. Either way, this space serves the same function as lectures in a traditional classroom.
If you have questions about anything I post here, feel free to post a comment in response. If you have questions in general, however, about the class, readings, assignments, technology, take advantage of the discussion board in Web Campus. There's a discussion thread on the board reserved for questions about class; if you ask any questions you might have in that forum (as opposed to emailing me) the whole class will benefit from the answer. As a plus, when other students have the answer, they often beat me to the punch with a response.
I'm looking forward to working with each of you over the coming months.
Have a great day.
Dr. Staggers
