Daily Message for Oct. 27

Good Morning,

Just a quick reminder that you should be submitting drafts of your enhanced resumes for peer review sometime today. Because this is kind of a free-wheeling and experimental assignment (that is not code for "skip peer review, throw something together at the last minute, and it will still get a good grade"), I encourage you to submit whatever you have in whatever form it is in currently for peer review sooner rather than later.

Mod 6 Peer Review
Use peer review as an opportunity to really pick the brains of your colleagues and find ways to push your project further, rather than as a review of a nearly finished product. Because everyone is starting with different documents and the assignment constraints are quite loose, you should be able to get quite a bit of inspiration from each other. Be sure to ask your partners for specific response on anything you're struggling with.

Remember that the peer response prompts in Mod 6 are primarily aimed at traditional resumes. Your group should discuss strategies for reviewing/commenting on the visual elements of the resumes, as well.

Aim to have response back to your partners by Friday.

Looking ahead
Module 7 officially starts on Friday. This is our only group project for the semester, and it requires you -- as a group -- to analyze a set of technical instructions. If you happen to already have some instructions lying around that seem promising for this assignment, you might want to round them up.

Otherwise, keep your eyes open for all of the places you encounter instructional documents as you go about your week. For this assignment, you're looking specifically for print-based documents.

I anticipate leaving you for the most part in the groups you are in for Module 6 peer review for Module 7. I'll make final adjustments to groups on Friday. If you find, after peer review for Module 6, that your group requires some adjustment, please contact me through WebCampus email by Friday morning.

That's all from here today. Be sure to ask if you have questions.

Otherwise, have a great day.

Julie
